If you use the same websites everyday, then you might find it useful to open more than one web page at a time.
This can save you time since you won’t have to search and click on each bookmark individually and also allows you to perform different actions on different pages and switch between them when you need to.
For example, if you are working on a real estate appraisal, you might need to search your local MLS website, research a property on the local tax assessor’s website, and find a flood map on FEMA.gov all at the same time.
There are two ways of managing multiple web pages; opening websites in new windows or in new tabs.
Having multiple websites opened in different windows can be hard to manage and the windows can be buried and hard to find if you have numerous websites opened at once.
Tabbed browsing on the other hand allows you to open several web pages at once and all can be seen and accessed through the browser’s tabs.
How to Open Multiple Webpages At One Time In Google Chrome
Click HERE if you can not see the embedded video above.
The first thing you need to do is to create a folder that contains all of the websites you want to open at one time.
Open Chrome and open all of the web pages you need to open. The picture below shows 6 different websites open in 6 different tabs.
Right click on any of the tabs and select “bookmark all tabs”.
Name the folder you want the bookmarks saved.
Select the location where you want the new folder saved.
For convenience, you can save the folder to the bookmarks bar. You can dock the bar underneath the address bar at the top of the browser window for easy access. To dock the bar, select the wrench icon on the browser toolbar –> select tools –> select Always show the bookmarks bar.
Now you have all of the bookmarks saved to one folder.
To open all of the bookmarks at one time, right click on the folder and select “Open All Bookmarks”.
All of the bookmarks in that folder will open in different tabs.
This can be a big time saver if you use the same bookmarks everyday. Personally, I have a different folder for each county that I appraise in that contains a set of websites I use. This helps to not only keep my links organized but easily accessible.
