I asked if the end of the fax machine was near when DocuSign raised $2 Million for E-eignature software.  On November, 19,2009, the NAR announced that they partnered with DocuSign to deliver electronic signature services to its members.

Rather than driving across town to get a signature or forcing their clients to find a fax machine, real estate professionals can use DocuSign to execute agreements with buyers and sellers electronically, eliminating the old process of printing, faxing, and waiting for the return fax.

It will cost real estate agents $13.95 a month per user to use the service if they sign up for a year or $17.95 per user/month if they want to just pay month to month.  $14 a month does seem a little steep to me depending on how many contracts are signed each month.  I think it will be interesting to see how buyers and sellers react to the technology.  I really hope that agents do sign up to use the service.  I mentioned before that I often have trouble reading real estate contracts because they have been faxed multiple times.
